Judge Speaks......
Letter to HRD Minister, Shri Kapil Sibal.....

My compliments to Mr. Jayram Ramesh
Demolition Order
The orders issued by Mr. Jayram Ramesh, Environment Minister to demolish the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society building in Mumbai, which seems to have been built in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone Notification of 1991, is a strong signal to all those who think that the legal provisions and the laws in this country can be manipulated.  I know that there are still many ifs and buts to the demolition action but still the order reinforces the faith of people in public administration and brings some credibility to the noise of the politicians that they intend to curb and control corruption/corrupt practices in the country.

My compliments to Mr. Jayram Ramesh.

Most of the Judges are high character

The effectiveness with which the Supreme Court of India is handlingvarious legal matters relating to
scams, misconduct of politicians and public servants is quite heartening.  Judiciary is the last hope of
the citizens of this country and is the foundation of the democratic edifice.

A message must go to all the scamesters in the country that they are being watched and can be held
any time.  Public money cornered by such scamesters belongs to the masses of India and must reach
them back.

The Supreme Court of India as well as Parliament must examine the feasibility of introducing laws
under which Assets and Bank accounts of scamesters are attached as soon as the FIR is registered
and are confiscated in case the charged person is held guilty by a Court of Law.

I do not say that scams and frauds are not there in other countries but the legal systems there do not
give any escape route to the perpetrators of such crimes.  This should happen in our country also as
till now nothing is found to be happening to such offenders.

I recollect the comments made by Lord Bingham during the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Indian
Supreme Court when he openly acknowledged that when the Courts in United Kingdom and other
developed countries were taking singles and doubles, the Indian Supreme Court was hitting fours
and sixes.  These comments were with reference to the judgments passed by the Supreme Court
of India in Public Interest Litigations.  The Supreme Court of India as well as High Courts must keep
the judicial flag flying high.

Most of the Judges in the Supreme Court and High Courts are men of high character and iron will.
I pray to the Almighty to bless them all and keep them going in the spirit they are discharging their
judicial functions.

Pravez Musharraf The Prime Minister and his Cabinet colleagues deserve to be richly
complimented for denying a Visa to the Former Pakistan President
Mr.Pravez Musharraf.  It is a welcome sign of India’s maturity in
Foreign Policy.  The enemies need not be pampered.  They have to be
watched and controlled.
