Chopra and Prakash Jaju's Dispute

This is to put in facts about one Prakash Jaju, who in his desperate attempt to gain the limelight by raking up an unnecessary controversy regarding some payments due to him from Priyanka Chopra, Miss World 2000 and Bollywood Film Actor of repute Prakash Jaju is a small time finance broker (2% commission) for the Film Industry. He approached Priyanka through Akshay Management Company in February 2001 to work as a Secretary, and a formal agreement between Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Management Services was signed on 15th February, 2001 at Mumbai (Appendix A), with a clear understanding as per the Article 14 of Contract, that the agreement can be cancelled by either side with a 2 months notice. As per Article 3 the artist was to pay remuneration 10% as commission. During this period Akshay Management Services were paid 10% of remuneration. Within a month of his working with Priyanka he started doing financial irregularities and had serious differences with his partner, P. G. Sreekanth. Priyanka got disturbed on these developments and terminated the contract which was received, agreed and confirmed by Prakash Jaju and as per the terms the contract came to an end on 6th May, 2001. (Appendix B) After that Priyanka could not do any films for one year because of Miss World Organization. In June, 2002, Prakash Jaju came back and convinced her to work as her Secretary and a formal agreement was signed on 1st June, 2002 between Priyanka Chopra and Prakash Jaju. (Appendix C) As per this Contract, (1) Article 1.2, 5% of commission was to be given for the remuneration received due to direct result of Managers efforts. (2) Article 1.7, meant and included only the film industry and all fashion shows, stage shows, Advertisements and Endorsements of products were excluded from this contract. (3) Article 4.3, clearly stated that Artist can terminate this agreementby giving one calendar months notice to the manager. Based on this Prakash Jaju started working as her Secretary but gradually Priyanka noticed that he started getting too personal with her and started causing her harrassment and mental torture by sending smses, even if she spoke to her producers, directors, co-artists and friends. His psycho-terror continued unabated, especially during night because of the effect of alcohol and psycho-motor drugs which he is getting for anxiety neurosis, mental depression and schizophrenia. During daytime he would start behaving differently but as evening approached his language in his smses changed to deformation, character assassination, crossing all limits of decency. But Priyanka was shocked when one day he attempted to barge in her bedroom totally drunk. This happened in presence of her maternal Aunt, Mrs. Vimala Akhouri from States. Once he could not pounce on her he ran away with her mobile telephone to see her call details. This is the time she realized that his obsession for her had reached dangerous heights and even though he continued being her Secretary, she was not on talking terms with him. Priyanka continued tolerating his torture and was looking for an appropriate opportunity to terminate him. Whenever he was told of his termination, he would promise, "I am sorry, I don't know what happens to me when I act in this manner", giving her further indication of his split personatlity. This started affecting her work professionally but determined girl that she is , she performed in Films like, 'Andaz', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karoge', 'Aitraaz' and 'Krrish' even better than before. Today, after complaints against his filthy character have been written by Priyanka, he has started calling her 'Sister' though this stink of a man had given written statements against her wherein he has mentioned that Priyanka was attracted towards him. One such article published in a newspaper reads, "Priyanka Chopra's Secret Midnight Desires - Prakash Jaju, fired former Secretary of Priyanka, Pam Bhandari, Special Corresspondent, 30th September, 2004"(Appendix D). During this time he started doing the same things to her father and mother with the aim of trying to split the family. But beacause the strong bonds that the family is tied up with he failed in causing any dent ot the family as such. After sometime, his financial irregularities came to the surface wherein it was known that he would take extra cash without even informing Priyanka, from various producers. He attempted to take overdraft from her bank and was caught when he had taken about 10 Lakhs from Producer Sanjay Gupta, for the film 'Plan' and had not informed Priyanka about it. After 2 years of mental torture and constant harrassment, psycho-terror and fearful living she one day decided to terminate his services while she was still on world tour by informing her producers about it. Various police complaints were made against him through Police Commissioner, Mumbai, D. N. Nagar and Oshiwara and undertaking of good behavior was taken from him but all this did not deter him from his misdeeds and he did not mend his ways. On 3rd July, 2004 he tendered his resignation to give an impression that it is he who has resigned and not vice-versa. (Appendix E). At this point of time he had the audacity of forging Priyanka's signature on the copy of the original agreement and started threatening her to re-instate him or face the consequences. Finding no response he initiated in a number of Court cases against her based on FORGED DOCUMENTS (Appendix F) in Sessions, High and finally Supreme Court he lost all cases (Priyanka Chopra's councillor Mr. Satish Maneshinde Tel: 022 2492 4477) and thereafter again continued threatening her to re-instate him. He became so frustrated taht his language of smses changed colours to abusing her and threatening her with dire consequences, professionally and personally threatened to harm her life and living, started targetting her family trying to blackmail them into conceding to his unjustified demands and finally coerce her colleagues and seniors from the industry with a view to harm her image by publishing derogatory advertisements in the Trade Magazines and sending emails and smses to various producers. Inspite of his derogatory emails to her producers she continues to get buig banner films, especially after he has been terminated. Forgery of the original agreement by Prakash Jaju was proved by Mr. Gajjar, handwriting expert of the High Court of Mumbai, wherein he had forged Article 1.7 so that Fashion Shows, Stage Shows, Advertisements and Endorsements can be included (Signature B.1). Secondly, termination of agreement can be done by giving 6 months notice (Signature B.2) and not 1 month as in the original document. (Appendix G). The sole aim of the forgery was done so that he can increase the remuneration due to him to an unthinkable limit and she can re-instate him at any cost. All these documents have been submitted in the Court of Law. Inspite of repeated complaints to Police, when no action was being taken against him., Priyanka Chopra cinally complained to the Government of Maharashtra to restrain this man from causing anymore harm and mental torture to herand provide her security. Finally on 22nd May, 2006 he has been charged under Section 502 and 506 Part 2, by Oshiwara Police Station. In the meantime Mr. Rakesh Roshan, Producer of Krrish, has also complained to the Police Station against Prakash Jaju, for extortion and blackmailing. At present his Modus Opprendi is to surpass legal system and win public sympathy by giving false statements and lies in the form of interviews to various Channels though the actual facts legally prove otherwise. Priyanka has decided not to react to this Persona Nongrata in her life and has full faith in the legal system, the Police Force and Political Platform of out country. Remuneration paid to him were re-checked as per the dates of employment, dates of resignatiopn, 5% commission, 1 month's notice and exclusion of Shows, Advertisements, etc., and it was revealed by the Chartered Accountant, Mr. Anil Sekhri (Tel: 022 0636 1939; Mob: 98925 34746) that Priyanka Chopra has paid Rs. 18,70000 in excess of what he would have legally earned. (Appendix H). This is not the first time that this man has been entangled in financial irregularities with the Artists. He has duped many film personalities in the past including Mr. Jackie Shroff, Ayesha Shroff (Film Production), Sridevi (Sridevi Investments), Hema Malini (Cosmetics Manufacture), Jaya Prada and innumerable Film Producers. He has atleast 12 cases of Financial irregularities in the Court of Indore where he belongs. His guts to challenge the Judiciary and Police force have reached these limits because no complaint was made against him by any of the celebrities for fear of derogatory publicity. Probably Priyanka's case also would have got embezzled in the cobweb of lies and one-sided stories being aired by various TV Channels. But instead of taking law in her own hands she has followed the proper channel of Judiciary and Police Department because truth and all documentary evidences are all with her. Only time will tell if truth finally prevails or this liar, blackmailer and extortionist is able to carry on with the wrong impression he is trying to create through media. |
