Priyanka Chopra's Fiji Tour
Friday, September 15, 2006
MISS World 2000 and Bollywood
superstar Priyanka Chopra and Indian heartthrob Dino Morea ended their
whirlwind Fiji concert tour before 4000 adoring fans in Lautoka last night.
Travelling from all corners
of the country, people started queuing for tickets two hours before the
show began at 7.30pm.
And, just like in Suva on
Wednesday, fans in Lautoka were delighted the show surpassed expectations.
For Alvin Singh, of Olosara,
in Sigatoka, it was an opportunity not to be missed.
A huge fan of Ms Chopra,
Mr Singh said watching her live was a dream come true.
Mr Singh said even though
the ticket cost $35, it was something he willing paid since it was a once
in a lifetime opportunity.
"When I heard Ms Chopra
was coming to Fiji, I started saving because I thought the tickets would
be very expensive. But being here and being able to see her live is something
that I will remember always," he said.
Akash Deo of Nakurakura,
in Nadi, said watching Bollywood superstars perform live was something
many Fiji-Indians dreamt of. Mr Deo said the performances by all at the
show last night were extraordinary. "We have got more than our money's
worth," he said.
The 30-member troupe flies
out tomorrow for a show in Auckland, New Zealand.
