Temple Koul Kandouli This is the first Darshan in Maiya Vaishnodevi Yatra on the main road on your way 13 Kms from Jammu to Katra in Nagarota Village Maiya stayed here for quite some time to complete HER Tapasya (spiritual discipline) by performing all the required rituals and fulfilling all the necessary virtues as has been described in the scriptures. |
|
Koul Kandoli Maiya played here with small girls and used to swing with local girls on nearby trees. Once when the girls felt thirst, Meri Maiya gave them a bowl (Kol). When the girls shook (Khandholna) the bowls at a dry place, water gushed out of it. Hence Meri Maiya came to be called Kol Kandholi Maiya. Kol Kandoli Maa |

Deva Mai This is the Second Darshan in Maiya Vaishnodevi Yatra, where Meri Maiya gave HER divine Darhan to Shyamidasji, the fourth generation of Pandit Shridharji, whom Maiya gave HER first Darshan in the Holy Cave. Shyamdasji the great grand son of Pandit Shridharji stayed in a small village known as Numai, from where he used to walk all the way to Maiya Darbar and perform Meri Maiya puja daily. He used to wake up at around 4.00 a.m. and walked his way through the Trikuta Mountains to the Holy Cave. This routine of his went on for 12 years and 9 months, when Maiya pleased with his Bhakti gave him HER divine Darshan at this place. |
