Meera Chopra in 'Jaganmohini'

12 Nov 2008. Inspired by yesteryear’s Vitalacharya’s Jaganmohini, a film titled Jaganmohini is expected to hit the screens in January. If Jayamalini immortalised the film playing its title role, buxom beauty Namitha is set to relive the magic in this modern Jaganmohini.

Interesting thing is veteran sex siren Jyothi Lakshmi not only plays Namitha’s mother in the film but also shakes her leg with the actress in a dance number.

Raja and Meera Chopra play the lead. Yesteryear Yuvarani appears as Narasimha Raju’s wife in the film.

Kota Srinivasa Rao, Narasimha Raju, Brahmanandam, Riyaz Khan and Madan Babu appear in other prominent roles. NK Viswanathan is directing the film in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.

“Vitalacharya‘s Jaganmohini is just an inspiration for the film. By incorporating several interesting sequences, including, underwater sequences in Andamans, we are trying to make a wholesome entertainer," said the film director NK Viswanathan. The film has music scored by Ilayaraja. H Murali is producing the film in both Telugu and Tamil simultaneously under Murali Cine Arts banner.
