  • Vana music Launch

20 Dec 2007. Meera Chopra is very excited about her latest venture, Vaana, which is all set to hit the screens next month.
Having shot into the lime light co-starring Pawan Kalyan in Bangaram, her career got off to a rocking start. But her next venture, Satyam Sivam Sundaram, proved to be a disaster but she is hopeful she will regain the hit streak with Vaana.

She is playing the lead opposite Vinay in the movie being directed by MS Raju. "Vaana is a romantic entertainer and MS Raju has done a fantastic job as a director. I am sure the film will help me establish myself as a name to reckon with in the industry," says Meera.

Music of MS Raju’s directorial debut Vana was launched with lots of fanfare on the night of 14 December in Annapurna studios. Vinay and Meera Chopra played main leads. Kamalakar composed music. Audiocassette was launched by D Rama Naidu and sold it to Nukarapu Surya Prakasa Rao. Audio CD is launched by Devi Sri Prasad and bought by Satya Rangayya.
D Rama Naidu said, “MS Raju has been saying that he would direct a film for a long time. And I am happy that he has finally done it now. I also told many times that I would be directing. But never did it. The third generation in his family is also entering movies now.”

Presenter N Surya Prakasa Rao said, “Mungara Male is a bigger hit than Pokiri in south India. It was releasing on 28th of December last year and is still running housefuls. They had been saying that producer made the money to the tune of 45-50 crores. I am producing a Kannada film titled Galipata with the same combination now. I was holding the rights of this film and MS Raju approached me. And I requested him to direct the film too.”
Shyam Prasad Reddy said, “I knew MS Raju for the past 20 years. He ha lots of love, desire and passion for filmmaking. It is a rare thing for a producer to become a successful director. Only VB Rajendra Prasad achieved it in a big scale in the past. I am confident that MS Raju with his terrific passion and energy levels will become the most successful director.”
Devi Sri Prasad said, “Though many directors directed films in MS Raju production, I always felt that he was the director. I made my debut in films with MS Raju’s Devi. Kamalakar did flute work for that film. And he is immensely talented flutist. Vinay is big in Tamil with girls going gaga over him. I saw two songs in Vana and they are terrific.”
MS Raju said, “I would like to thank N Surya Prakasa Rao who gave me this subject. For the first time, I teamed up with another producer for a film. He never asked me about budget. Every role in this film is good. I am confident about the success.”

DEVI SRI PRASAD & M S RAJU COMBO HAS SPLIT ?
After a series of films, producer M S Raju has departed from his discovery and top music director Devi Sri Prasad. For M S Raju’s maiden directorial venture, “Vaana”, Devi Sri Prasad is not going to score music. Kamalakar, of “Pranam” and “Evadi Gola Vaadide”, is giving music to Vaana and he has already recorded three songs which according to our sources are splendid.

“Vaana” is remake of Kannda film, “Mungaru Male”. The film’s shooting is presently going on at Sakleshpur near Mangalore in Karntaka. Vinay and Meera Chopra are the lead pair in it.

Devi Sri Prasad gave musical hits such as “Varsham”, “Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana” to M S Raju. And his last four productions including “Pournami” and “Aata” were scored by Devi. After nearly five years M S Raju chooses another music director than Devi-Telugu Cinemass.

    Nila dances to a remix
    Monday, February 05, 2007
Meera Chopra aka Nila is awaiting release of Lee. She plays the lead role opposite Sibiraj in the movie directed by Prabhu Solomon.
Meanwhile the actress is busy shooting for Khilladi directed by A Venkatesh with Bharath .
The yesteryear chartbuster Machanai Parthingala in Annakili, set to tunes by Ilayaraja, is remixed for Khilladi. A Venkatesh has opted to retain the words and had insisted on brisk music for the song.
The song was picturised last week at the AVM Studios. The director is hopeful that it would become a big hit and a major highlight of the movie.

Bharat-Meera Chopra pairing up for United Movies
Paruchuri Sivarama Prasad (of United Movies), who produced the non-starter Rajababu (directed by Muppalaneni Siva and starring Rajasekhar & Sri Devika in the lead) last year, has now selected Bharat and Meera Chopra to play the lead pair in his forthcoming film.
To be directed by a new director named Venkatesh, it will be a bi-lingual in Telugu and Tamil. The film will be launched with a muhurat on January 17. 2007.

Nithin is in trouble again. It looks like his film Satyam Sivam Sundaram which is scheduled to release on 8th December may be delayed as actress Meera Chopra stalls the release of her second Telugu film, SSS, for not clearing her dues.

She filed case against the makers of the film in Hyderabad Metropolitan court and the judge today (December 05, 2006) enforced the stay on the release of the film. The court postponed the next hearing on December 12th.

Meera Chopra who made debut in Pawan Kalyan’s Bangaram alleged that she was not paid fully the remuneration and sought the stay over the release.

It’s surprising to know that Meera Chopra approached the court for negligible dues. According to sources, only Rs 40,000 is pending to be cleared by the producer from her remuneration. Already the producer Srinivas Raju is in financial mess due to many reasons regarding this project. A responsible actor should come together to bail him out but Meera Chopra’s attitude is highly unethical.
Canning of last song is in progress for 'Satyam Sivam Sundaram' directed by Malayalam director Siddique and produced by B Srinivasa Raju on the banner of Sri Sri Chitra with Nitin, Meera Chopra in the lead, at Taramati Baradari in Hyderabad. The song 'Picasso… Sathia…' penned by Anant Sriram is being canned under the choreography of Pradeep Anthony on Nithin and Meera Chopra.

Meera Chopra says, 'This film will be a little different from regular Telugu films. I am playing the role of a girl who has good self-respect. I am very happy for coming before the Telugu audiences with another good film. The heroine doesn't know what the hero's character is. Always she mistakes about him. Even the audiences could also not guess what would happen in the next scene.'

Nithin says, 'The shooting of balance two songs has begun on Monday. Already we have completed one song 'Ammo Ammamma Thodu…' penned by Suddala Ashok Teja. With the shooting of the last song at Golconda Fort by Saturday, we will wrap up the shooting. The producer is planning to complete the film in the third week of November. My role in this film will have three shades. I am doing the character of a youth who uses both his mental power and muscle power to chase the target. The film would be a good entertainer and the climax would be a highlight in the film. Music by Mani Sharma had already grabbed the attention of the audiences. My get-ups, mannerisms would be quite different from routine in this film. I am very happy for working under the direction of Siddique, who made all the 12 films in his direction big hits. We are sure that our film would be the 13th hit in his career.'

    Satyam Sivam Sundaram' audio released
    08. Nov.2006. The audio of 'Satyam, Sivam, Sundaram' directed by Malayalam director Siddique and produced by B Srinivasa Raju on the banner of Sri Sri Chitra with Nithin and Meera Chopra in the lead was made available in the market on Sunday.

Producer Srinivasa Raju says, 'The film had completed all the post-production formalities and it is ready for release on November 17. All the five songs are different from each other and were quite melodious. Mani Sharma gave fantastic tunes to all the songs. All the music lovers would definitely like them. The shooting of the film would be wrapped up with the canning of a song penned by Suddala Ashok Teja under the choreography Pradeep Anthony on Nithin and Meera Chopra. Re-recording is also being done simultaneously.' Director Siddique says, 'The film has a story based on mind-game. Our hero is an IIT student. He faces an unexpected problem in his life. It is a little dangerous. Instead of resolving that problem physically, the hero uses his cleverliness. How he resolved the problem is the basic storyline. The film will be quite entertaining and at the same time will have a good suspense.' Dialogues are by Chintapalli Ramana, music is by Manisharma, camera is by Jayaram, editing by VR Sekhar and KR Gowrishankar, while story, screenplay and direction are by Siddique.

    Satyam Sivam Sundaram
Nitin is said to have done a good job in the film. The film refers to three different facets in his character...
Abbas, who is familiar to Tollywood right from his 'Prema Desam' days, is playing a baddie in the movie...
"We intended to make a hilarious comedy devoid of slapstick," says Siddique...
He thanks writer Chintapalli Ramana for helping him come up with a watertight script and "innumerable" comic punch lines. Meera Chopra looks very gorgeous.
She was touted as the next Simran in Kollywood. A look-alike of Simran, she was introduce by S J Suryah in his Anbae Aaruyirae.

Now Nila is keen to bounce back and give her contemporaries a run for their money. She stars opposite Sibiraj for Lee directed by ‘Kokki’ Solomon. The movie went to floors Friday.

Nila is happy for she has been entrusted a meaty role in Lee. She is brimming with joy now. Also she has signed a couple of movies in Telugu, say sources close to the actress.

‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’, in Dubbing Mood
    19-07-2006
The dubbing work of Sri Sri Chitra ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ starring Nitin and Meera Chopra is complete.

Producer B.Srinivasaraju said, 'Shooting part has almost come to an end with the exception of two songs. The remaining two songs will be shot in the first week of August. Dubbing work is complete and Re-recording will start this week. The music of Manisharma is brilliant and he has come up with high-quality piece of music'.

When asked about the ins and outs of the film the producer said, 'Director Siddiq is a familiar figure in Malayalam Film Industry, for the reason that his films have done very well at the Box-office. Siddiq who directed films like ‘Hitler’, ‘Friends’, and ‘Godfather’, in Malayalam, which were later remade in Telugu to all-round admiration. I have been waiting for six years to do a film with him, which finally materialized in the shape of ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’. The performance of Nitin in the film is first rate and the film will unquestionably bring him excellent name. The title is in line with the story of the film. The title is not even remotely connected with the names of people with whom you can identify. The role of actor Abbas will be worlds apart. The film will be out for public screening in the last week of August'.

Nila: I will not bare all for stardom
PETALING JAYA: New Indian actress Nila may like wearing sexy clothes but the 23-year-old former model has vowed never to expose herself in her quest for stardom.
Nila (whose real name is Meera Chopra), who described scenes that required an actress to wear revealing clothes as trashy, said she did not plan to make it to the top by exposing her assets.
“I don’t want to do such scenes because it is not my style. I never thought I would be an actress and now that I am, I will not expose much.
Nila: ‘I never thought I would be an actress and now that I am, I will not expose much’
“I would like to be known as a decent actress making movies for all in the family. These days Bombay is producing a lot of sleazy movies and many have flopped,” she said yesterday.
Nila was here with director-actor S.J. Surya to promote their Tamil movie Ah....AAh – an abbreviation of Anbe Arvuyire (My love, My Life) which has been having a successful run since it premiered in local cinemas four days ago.
Top Indian music director A.R. Rahman provided the soundtrack.
“Surya gave me the name Nila which means the moon as his means the sun. I suppose he wanted us to shine,” she said.
Surya, who is the hero in the movie, said that the audience in India these days did not appreciate too much nudity and sex in films.
“It may sell but I make it a point to balance it in my movies,” he said.
Suray:'I based the script n my real-life experiences'.
For Nila, her entry into filmdom was by chance.
“I was in Bombay working as a part-time model and a production executive journalist after returning from New York last year when I got a call from a South Indian director asking if I wanted to act in his next movie.
“I thought it was a prankster but decided to meet him anyway.
“So it was a pleasant surprise in the end,” said Nila, who did a Masters in Mass Communications in Michigan and then worked for about a year in New York as an online news editor.
Surya, who directed hits Valli and Khushi, said he went to Bombay to choose his leading lady for the movie but was disheartened when he could not get the person he was looking for.
“Bored and upset, I was looking through a magazine when I saw Nila on the cover. I called her after getting her phone number from the modelling agency.
“She laughed and said how could she act in a Tamil movie without knowing the language.
“I told her that is my responsibility as a director,” he said, adding that she was convinced after viewing his past movies.
“For a first-timer who did not know Tamil, she was simply fantastic especially when she had to do dual roles in her debut,” he added.
Surya said the movie addressed relationship problems among youths such as lack of trust between couples.
“I based the script on my real-life experiences and this made it easier for me and Nila,” he said.
Surya added that his trip to Malaysia was also to explore the possibility of working closely with Malaysian movie distributor Lotus Five Star.
“I want to examine the possibility of shooting movies here.
“I think Langkawi and Penang may be some good locations. I will have to check them out.”
Meera Chopra better known as Nila in Tamil is making her debut in Pawan Kalyan’s Dharani directed Bangaram. She is now all excited about her new film Sathyam Shivam Sundaram to be directed by Siddique the hit film maker from Kerala.
Meera was in the news recently after she walked out of a Tamil film and created a raging controversy. In Sathyam Shivam Sundaram, she is cast opposite Nitin and Abbas who plays a diabolical villain. This film is produced by Srinivasa Raju and Mani Sharma provides music.

Siddique is one of the few directors in India who has given 9 consecutive super hits in the last 20 years. He takes long gap between his films and believes that script is the king. Most of his films in Malayalam were remade in Telugu like Hitler, Hanuman Junction and Snehamante Idera.

Now Sathyam Shivam Sundaram is said to be an original script and the love angle between Nitin and Meera is said to be the highlight of the film. Siddique plans to complete the film in one single schedule so that the film can release by May.

Meera hopes on 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram'

Meera Chopra acted opposite Pavan Kalyan in Bangaram. But the young lady didn`t get the mega opening that she wanted in Telugu. She had high hopes on 'Bangaram' before it was released. But it was not a very big hit in Tollywood. Yet Meera hasn`t lost any hope and the young lady is very confident that her next movie will surely place her on the top. Her next movie is with Nitin. The title of the movie is 'Sathyam Shivam Sundaram'.

Meera Chopra is Nitin’s love interest
Actress Meera Chopra will be playing the love interest of Nitin in a movie under Siddique Lal. She’s not a new face in Tollywood. She has already done Bangaram which is yet to be released. She’s better known as Nila in Kollywood. She made her debut there with controversial actor plus director, S.J. Suryah, in his movie Aa Aah. The shooting is currently under progress at Hyderabad. Mani Sharma is scoring the music.
After studying Mass Communications in New York, Meera worked with a leading national television channel but gave it up soon because she felt she was given a raw deal. Meera Chopra is originally from the modeling world. She earned her break in films with 'Anbe Aaruyire (Ah Ahh)' a film produced, directed by S.J. Suryah in which he played the lead role. It is Suryah who is responsible for bringing her into the cine field, It was Surya who changed into Nila in Tamil.
