Saif Ali in hospital
with chest pain
Mumbai, February 18
Bollywood star Saif Ali
Khan was tonight admitted to Leelavati Hospital after he experienced chest
pain.
"Sometime around 9.30 pm,
Khan arrived here complaining of pain in the chest and was admitted for
further examination," Narendra Trivedi, vice-president of the hospital
in Bandra, said.
Saif, who was adjudged for
the Star Dust award for the best negative role in "Omkara", was rehearsing
for his dance performance at the award-giving function when he complained
of chest pain. Saif had just returned from South Africa, where he was shooting
for Race.
Ironically, Saif was named
as the winner of the best villainous performance for his role in Omkara
at the awards show even as he was undergoing tests in hospital.
Bollywood’s concern for the
Khan’s health showed as a steady stream of visitors made its way to Lilavati.
Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt were among the first to call on him. Later,
Preity Zinta and Fardeen Khan showed up too.
Last March, Khan was operated
for appendicitis in Kuala Lumpur where he was shooting for a commerce.
