| Dear Mr. Chopra,
I am retd Air Force officer and Sr. Citizen. I seek your valuable advise on the following issue:- The Govt issued an ordinance in2006 staying sealing & demolitions of unauthorised constructions in delhi with status quo wef 1/1/2006. Then Govt issued another ordinance in 2007. Now does this second ordinance is extention to the previous ordinance of 2006 or new. Under previous ord. my (private builder's) second floor flat(costruction beyond sanction plans) was covered under status quo effective 1/1/2006.MCD now says that since that ord.is over I'm not entittled for same benifit under new ord. I am very much impressed by the compilation of dates and events related to sealing drive in Delhi, which is evident from the material I have collected as per attachment 'sealing', from your compilations.But I have not been able to locate any compilation of 'Live India' which clarifies the following:- (1)- What is the sequence of demolition drive in Delhi which started in the end of 2005? (2)- What is now going on regarding this demolition drive? (3)- What legal actions are being taken by weeping & wailing victims of this demolition drive in view of the fact that other unauthorized constructions like 1,700 unauthorized colonies etc. of Delhi are left as such and no more being demolished? (4)- Regarding sealing drive, September 7 & 15 Government Notification gave relief from sealing, though the final outcome on the validity of these notifications has to come from Supreme Court. (5)- But how come that the people who did not give affidavit are allowed do business by Supreme Court whereas people who gave affidavits, in deference to authority of law, are expected by Supreme Court to close their business? (6)- Has any such effected person who gave affidavit has moved Supreme Court under article 32 read with article 14 of the Constitution raising this legally objectionable discrimination & thus highlighting this jurisprudential enigma? Fears is running in the mind of people who made their promising future way back and not to get returns in form of Demolition and Sealing. These people started their life while putting their hard earned money and working day & night while giving their share to Govt. in turn to get good roads and basic amenities instead they are getting slow poison in form of Sealing, De-sealing, Demolition drive and lots of promises from their local leader who most of the time are Helpless and Hopeless. Most of the time we blame ourselves that whom we voted is not helping us in this crucial times of ours. But its not our fault, we are simple people , living simple life and we have to choose from what is being given in the election list. If everybody participate in Politics. How other things will be taken care of. Its the duty of all those politicians who are into politics for quite a long time, to see through the situation seriously and act accordingly otherwise there are 100% chance that most of the people will go for other means which will put our Country back to 19th century. We can never become Super-power by demolishing our people life and future. There is no use of Common-wealth games if the wealth of the people of India is robbed. |

Name ashok Comment I am fully agree with your comments all the activities of constructions are done after taking money from peoples, without this nothing has been done. In my opinion all authorities are responsible for this and they should also punished for their act. |

Name satyaveer sharma Comment Thanks for your positive feeling about the problem of demolition a common people is facing in Delhi.I had purchased a flat in Lal Dora area at second floor.This demolition drive has destroyed my all worth.Now I am unable to sleep and always dreaming the ghoast of buldozer.My builder told me that his building is constructed as per the building bylaws of MCD.But I am not sure that in Lal Dora area construction of flat is permitted or not.Please help me. satyaveer sharma Assistant Director |
