Deepika Padukone > I played state level badminton till the 10th standard. Then I
had to study for my ICSE board exams, so I stopped playing for three months and modelling happened after that.

Jamal > Do you play any sports? What tips do you take from your dad?
Deepika Padukone > I play a little bit of basketball, tennis, throw ball and baseball. Basically, my dad follows the 3 D and that is discipline, determination and dedication. That's what he tells everyone.

Deepika Padukone > The way the industry abroad works fascinates me. I guess it's the professionalism. But I think, in the last couple of years India has improved a lot..

Deepika Padukone > When I think I have given my best in the modelling world.

Honey > How did modelling start for you?
Deepika Padukone > I used to model as a kid when I was in school. But it was just as a hobby. And when I was in high school I realised that is what I wanted to take up professionally. So when I finished high school I decided that modelling was what I was going to take up as my profession.

B_rockin > Hi, you wanna do Hindi movies or Kannada movies?
Deepika Padukone > If I get into movies it would definitely be Hindi, but I probably would use a Kannada or a Tamil film as a stepping-stone.

B_rockin > Which school did you study in?
Deepika Padukone > Sophia High School in Bangalore.

Kali > How much influence or help did your background (mainly of sports at home) have on your career as a model?
Deepika Padukone > None.because sports and modelling are completely different. And my parents know anyone in the industry to help me out.

Clod > What is your choice of dresses? Do you like the Indian salwar-kamez look, a sari look or the western look?
Deepika Padukone > For formal wear, it would be western-formal or the Indian sari. But on a day-to-day it's a mix of salwar and western casuals - jeans and t-shirt.

Sissy > What are your hobbies?
Deepika Padukone > Music, eating, sleeping, watching movies.

Mona > Deepika, you were an instant hit when you appeared in the Liril ad. Do you think it is because you are Prakash Padukone's daughter or because people fell for your energy and freshness?
Deepika Padukone > Because of the energy and freshness, and it was much after the ad that people got to know who my father was. Even today, there are people in the industry who don't know who he is. And also, he has never used any kind of influence to get work (for me) in this industry.

Van_ns > Who are your favourite actor and actress?
Deepika Padukone > Actors - Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Actresses - Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen.

Sunny boy > Have your parents ever objected of you being into modeling, wearing hot outfits or something like that?
Deepika Padukone > They have never objected me being in the industry, and I would personally never wear anything (too) revealing or skimpy.
