Deepika Padukone has signed a film directed by Priyadarshan which is named ‘Pirate’, also starring Kunal Khemu and Shreyas Talpade and will also feature opposite Akshay Kumar in the film ‘Made In China’ in the recent future. According to Deepika Padukone there are three D’s which are needed for someone to grow in any field of life and they are dedication, discipline and determination. Within this small span of 21 years she has acclaimed fame and has a huge fan following. She is the heartthrob of today’s youth and the most promising newcomer. Success has not changed her fundamentally and she remains the down to earth person. Today she realizes that her responsibilities have gone up as people expect much more from her. Selection of good roles is the most important strategy for her, but anyways Deepika is certainly smashing the records at the box office these days. Deepika has had modelling appearances in print and television advertising campaigns for Liril soap, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, receiving many prestigious modelling offers, including brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India, an annual jewellery exhibition. She hit the international scene when Maybelline made her their new international cover face. At the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards, for Indian models and designers, she was awarded the title of Model of the Year. Shortly afterwards, she was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006, thus cementing her reputation as a supermodel. She also bagged two trophies at the Idea Zee F Awards in 2006 - Female Model of the year (Commercial Assignments) and Fresh Face of the year..
‘Om Shanti Om’ directed by Farah Khan, has already made a gala opening and is running successfully worldwide making Deepika Padukone one of the most saleable stars in Bollywood today. Deepika Padukone plays the role of an actress in the movie, and on the other hand she is portrayed as a very simple girl whose dream is to have a family of her own. The story revolves mainly on the theme of rebirth. This formula was also a hit in the olden days and still today the charm of this formula does not seem to have died down. Deepika Padukone has become clearly a big factor in the in selling the film. She has a fresh look and this factor has a huge contribution in marketing the film. Deepika Padukone seems to have taken tips from actresses of the 70’s to do full justice to her character. Her image in the film is of a common Indian woman who dreams of a home for her own. As a whole it can be said Deepika Padukone has been a new find for Bollywood in terms of looks as well as talent. It is very rare that someone who is so successful on the ramp succeeds in the Hindi film industry but Deepika Padukone has proved such notions totally incorrect. |
Rashmi > Have you begun your walk of fame towards the international ramp? Are you doing any shows abroad? Deepika Padukone > First of all, I haven't started with the international ramp. I have just started modeling in India about a year. I will be contacting a few agencies abroad in a couple of months. As of now, I am not doing any shows abroad. Mannie > Are you going
to be the next Indian supermodel from India?
Kali > Your dad is a renowned
sportsman. How come you are not in sports?
Jamal > Do you play any
sports? What tips do you take from your dad?
Shank > Hi Model, so can
I know why are you keeping an eye to get into international modeling?
Hari Vikram > Hi, I was
your classmate in grade three at Sophia College. At that time I only knew
that you were a legend's daughter. Now you've proved that one day you might
be a legend yourself. I would like to congratulate you and wish you luck.
Clod > What does your
dad, Mr. Padukone think of your career choice- modelling?
Rufus > When are we going
to see you in films?
Honey > How did modelling
start for you?
Moca > Do you have any
other siblings? What are they doing? Is your mom into sports too?
B_rockin > Hi, you wanna
do Hindi movies or Kannada movies?
B_rockin > Which school
did you study in?
Kali > How much influence
or help did your background (mainly of sports at home) have on your career
as a model?
Clod > What is your choice
of dresses? Do you like the Indian salwar-kamez look, a sari look or the
western look?
Sissy > What are your
hobbies?
Mona > Deepika, you were
an instant hit when you appeared in the Liril ad. Do you think it is because
you are Prakash Padukone's daughter or because people fell for your energy
and freshness?
Van_ns > Who are your
favourite actor and actress?
Sunny boy > Have your
parents ever objected of you being into modeling, wearing hot outfits or
something like that?
Sign Off Message > Thank you for logging on and all the best for your future! Love, Deepika
