The Walled City as it is known
today was built in the vicinity of the Red Fort and flourished as the center
of Mughal supremacy. In spite of being one of the world’s most densely
populated urban localities, it retains the charisma of the great Dynasty.
The sandstone bastion of Shah Jahan, the Red Fort comprises of huge audience
halls and marble ornate palaces, once home to the legendary Peacock Throne.
The largest mosque of India, Jama Masjid stands across the road over looking

Chowk, the Antique markets, Jewellery and Ornament hub “Dariba”, the wholesale
hubs of Indian textile called “Katras”, the hub of electronics and electric
products etc. Once a tree lined bazaar with canal intersecting through
the center, Chandni Chowk is the biggest trading centers of the country
catering to the trading needs of the entire North India. Crammed but thriving
with activity, Chandni Chowk is full of landmarks of historical interest
and an intricate network of lane and by lanes which run from one world
of spices to another of perfumes or jewels.
