The doyen of Mughal dynasty, emperor Shah Jahan wanted Shahjahanabad (Delhi’s seventh city) to reflect the opulence and splendor of his empire.

The Walled City as it is known today was built in the vicinity of the Red Fort and flourished as the center of Mughal supremacy. In the vicinity lie the Symbols of British empire, India Gate- a World War I memorial. Parliament House, the prestigious National Museum and the National Gallery of Modern Art. Rajpath bursts with fervor and festivities on India’s Republic Day, the most important celebration of India as a Independent Nation.
