Mumbai, April 08: The grand
finale of Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2007 will take place on Sunday
to crown its next beauty queen. As many as 25 beautiful finalists are vying
for the diamond-studded crown.

Pantaloons this year decided to declare 'Miss India World' as the official
winner and Mumbai girl Sarah Jane Dias is the one. Puja Gupta has been
declared 'Miss India Universe', while Puja Chitgopekar won the 'Miss India
Earth' crown at a glittering awards function of the coveted beauty event
in Mumbai on Sunday night.

Sarah, who is a Veejay and
a model, won the title beating 24 other contestants. The first runner-up
was Puja Gupta and Puja Chitgopekar the second runner-up, an official of
the event organiser said.
The event was judged by several
celebrities including Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, director
Subhash Ghai and model Ujwalla Raut and went for almost two-and-a-half
hours.
In the final round, the winning
question put to the five finalists was - "If you had to convince a rural
woman to participate in the Miss India contest, how would you do it?" and
all three winners gave fitting answers.
The pageant was interspersed
with performances by actors Tushhar Kapoor, Koena Mitra and Lara Dutta.
It is known that some former
Miss India winners have attained success in Bollywood today like Aishwarya
Rai, Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza.
Lara Dutta, Rabbi Shergill,
Tusshar Kapoor and Koena Mitra will perform on the occasion.
The contestants will don
the designer wear specially created for the event by Pantaloons (designed
by Rocky S), Ritu Kumar and Varun Bahl.
The ramp choreography is
done by Alison Kanuga, the official choreographer of PFMI 2007.
Sajid Khan and Mona Singh
will be hosting the event.
Film stars Lara Dutta, Tusshar
Kapoor and Koena Mitra along with Rabbi Shergill will perform at the forthcoming
Miss India contest.
The show will be hosted by
Tv personalities Sajid Khan and Mona singh while the contestants will be
clad in outfits designed by Rocky S , Ritu Kumar and Varun Bhal

Puja Gupta

An aspiring writer, Puja

Miss India Oman (1995) and
Channel [V] VJ, Sarah – Jane Dias is known face in the glamour industry.
Winning the Miss India crown is a dream that she has harbored since she
was five. Other than that she is keen to build a career in the field of
music and food. Traveling around the world is also part of her future plans.
Confident, forgiving and
addictive is how she describes herself. Her voice and her ability to talk
to anyone are her strengths while food and her forgiving attitude she considers
her weakness. Dancing, singing, traveling and writing are her hobbies.

Pooja Chitgopekar
Age:21 yrs
Height:5'8.5"

A doctor, a model, a television
anchor, a beauty queen, Pooja has a lot on her plate. Currently pursing
her MBBS from University of Auckland, this New Zealnd based beauty has
won the Miss India New Zealand (2002) contest, Miss India Worldwide (2003)
(1st runner up) and Miss Auckland (2002) (1st runner up). She has walked
the ramp for the New Zealand Fashion Week as well as anchored a show on
television.
Femina Miss India, she hopes
will give her the platform to express her thoughts and opinions and give
her the experience that will enable her to grow as a person. She wishes
to be a role model for the youth and hopes that her experiences of life
will help her do that.
Determined, optimistic, ambitious,
honest, hardworking, bubbly, approachable and compassionate is how Pooja
describes herself. Trained in jazz ballet and piano she enjoys indulging
herself in these activities along with doing yoga, swimming, reading, traveling
and playing tennis.
The ideal Miss India according
to her should be compassionate person who should be able to relate to people
of all age and class. She should be able to think on her feet and have
a broad outlook towards life
