Chopra's Diwali
10 Nov, 2007 Priyanka Chopra: This Diwali I'll be with my family. And can't think of a better way to celebrate. Being under the arc lights for a majority of time, actress Priyanka Chopra is glad to have celebrated the 'festival of lights' at home this year. "Diwali, this year, was a quiet family celebration. Dad is home now, so we are happy about that. We did a little pooja, and the festive ambience took over completely," she tells us. Has celebrating festivals changed post her actor-status, as being away from home is not unusual anymore? "Not quite. It was a family affair then, it's a family affair now. And we all try to be together on important days," says PC, who we hear could give any of Charlie's Angels a run for their stunts, if talks of her recent antics for her forthcoming film are anything to go by.
Priyanka Chopra can heave a sigh of relief because her marathon movies are about to finish. She has now started preparing for her two films, expected to go on the floors next year. "First I go into Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Fashion'. Then into Karan Johar's film which Tarun Mansukhani will direct. For 'Fashion' I need to sit down with Madhur and work out a graph for the character and the look,". Currently, she is shooting for the final lap of Rumi Jaffrey's long-delayed comedy "God, Tussi Great Ho". " 'Drona' and 'Love Story 2050' had huge amounts of action and special effects. So they took much longer than usual. They've turned out fabulously. They'll be over by December. So too 'God, Tussi Great Ho'. There's just one more song with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, and then we're done." "God, Tussi..." would probably be her last film with Salman Khan considering his comments on Priyanka. "Yeah, I heard Salman thinks I'm not his friend. That's all right. One can't hold anything against Salman. He's a cool guy. I'm sure he was just kidding around when he said that. Even if he wasn't, I'm fine with him. I've no problems with any of my co-stars." The year hasn't been an easy one for her personally or professionally - her father's illness, legal trouble with her former secretary Prakash Jaju, delayed projects and injury during the stunt scenes of "Drona". But Priyanka is gung-ho. "I guess I've the capacity
to emerge on top of a situation, thank god for that. God, tussi great ho!
