Priyanka Chopra who is shooting faraway in the jungles of Namibia will be flying down to Delhi especially to flag off the rally along with Gulshan "It's a great honour and more than anything, it's for a noble cause. Tina Ambani is doing an excellent job," she says. Here's one lady who deserves a huge round of applause from us as well. 

Harmony, a social initiative under the ageis of Harmony for Silvers Foundation, espouses, amongst several socially oriented activities, the cause of promoting the community interest of senior citizens. Our  effort is to help the elderly sustain their sense of pride and self-esteem.  Harmony vision is to see India elderly as Silver Citizens glowing and
 proud.

The  organization  is  actively  involved  in  multidimensional activities related  to  senior  citizens, with a view to improve their quality of  life under  leadership  of  our  founder Mrs Tina Anil Ambani The  initiatives of
Harmony at present has focused on four main areas. 
Harmony  Interactive Centre for Silver Citizens established in South  Mumbai provides  various  activities  for  the elderly all under one roof  Harmony- Celebrate  Age,  a  magazine for the 55+ age group is a monthly
 publication and covers in-depth features, a host of self-help sections and columns  on a range  of subjects www.harmonyindia.org, a website-portal strives to  provide features  and  resources  that  Silver viewers and their families need,  and Research & Development wing.

As  part  of  our ongoing social initiative, Harmony has undertaken  several projects  and  Events  for  senior  citizens. One such Event is  the  Senior Citizen  Special  Run,  initiated and supported by Harmony as a part of
 the Standard  Chartered  Mumbai  Marathon 2005, 2006 and 2007 and  Hutch Delhi Half marathon 2005 and 2006. Also Harmony Silver Awards 2007.

Continuing  the  tradition  Harmony is part of Vodafone Delhi half  Marathon 2007  scheduled  on  28th  October  2007.  These  events definitely put  the spotlight  back  on  senior  citizens  as  part of the mainstream,
 creating awareness  and  sensitivity towards them. Harmony creates a special  marquee for  Sr  citizens  where  they are served refreshments before and after  the Run.  Apart from this Harmony invites celebrities to cheer Sr
 citizen's.The list  of  celebrities  who  have  participated  in the Harmony  initiated sr citizen's  Run includes Mr Amitabh Bachchan, Mr Abhishek Bachchan, Mrs  Jaya Bachchan,  Ms  Rani  Mukherji,  Mr  Milkha  Singh,  Ms P T Ushs, Mr  Prakash Padukone,  Mrs  and  Mr  Rishi Kapoor, Ms Hema malini, Mr Paresh Rawal,
 Mrs Swarop  sapant,  Mrs and Mr Ravi Chopra, Ms Dimple kapadia, Ms Juhi  Chawla, Mr. Gulshan Grover, Ms Pooja Batra, Ms Manisha Koirala, Mr. Jackie  Shroff.

Organizations  like  HLL,  Air  India,  Coke,  ITC,  Amul,  Haldiram's,  Jet Airways,  Dr  Reddy's  Labs,  Le Meridien, BIG 92.7 FM, RCom, REL, and  many others have supported the event in past thru various initiatives.

Programme Details (tentative)    Sr Citizens start gathering by 6:00AM    Tea/Coffee and biscuits are served and a T shirt is given    Celebrities arrives at marquee and cheer up the crowd by 6:30 AM    Crowd start moving up to start point by 6:50AM    Run  begins  at  7/10  AM - Flagged off by Ms Priyanka Chopra, Mrs. Tina  Ambani.    Sr Citizens are back to Marquee by 8:30 AM onwards    Snacks and Beverages are served followed by a lucky dip    Crowd disperses by 10/00 AM

Prominent among is the current Bollywood queen Priyanka Chopra and the entire Indian Women Hockey team led by its Captain Mamta Kharab. 

The Senior Citizens Run would cover a route of four kilometers and would begin and conclude at the same point.
