A month ago, when we suggested that Salman Khan would join hands with the Bachchans we received tons of hate mail. Labelling the article as 'one of the most pathetic write-ups I've ever read,' one of buzz18.com users, Nikhil vehemently suggested that we 'Grow up!'

Another user, Prabha insisted that the writer see a doctor and even suggested that the editor stop writing altogether.

But today we stand vindicated as a mainstream tabloid wrote about how Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan 'bonded famously'. Salman Khan's spokesperson Alok Mathur confirmed to Mumbai Mirror that the two stars had indeed met at a studio in Mumbai and spent quite some time chitchatting.

Earlier in an interview, Salman Khan had said that whatever had happened between Aishwarya Rai and him was over and that he was indeed close to the Bachchans.

The personal bonding apart, this move of Salman Khan is to have larger repercussions in the industry.

While on the one hand this comes as a shot in the arm for the Bachchan camp, it will also mean the disintegration of the Khan clan. There was a point after the Bachchan-Rai wedding when it was strongly rumoured that the Khans were coming together to taken on the new 'Brand Bachchan' challenge.

This disintegration has been largely credited to Shah Rukh Khan's arrogance. Prominent Bollywood film magazine, Stardust in its cover story points out that Salman's relationship with Shah Rukh Khan has more of than not been a one way street – with Salman ending up being the giver almost all the time.
