Salman khan Profile Page 1 When you’re up, close and personal, Salman is just another affable person with boyish tinkle in his eyes, ready to reach out and mingle. His physical enormity apart, he’ll make you instantly comfortable as if you’ve known him throughout. He would take initiative to break the ice without throwing any attitude typical of many a star. His ease, simplicity and unpretentious ways can surprise and charm anyone. He is effortlessly forthcoming and sprinkles humor with anyone he accompanies. His company is as real as that of an old pal whom you turn up to whenever in need. He’ll pay attention to each and everything said and would also come up with occasional suggestions and liners to keep the conversation exciting. His image of being rude impetuous self indulging brat seems to be a complete farce, once you’re with him. It’s hard to believe what has been written about him by people who thrive on gossip and flimsy character assassinations, to survive in their business. He’s just another guy next door who has made it big but has not let success go to his head. In spite of deserving every bit his success and stardom, he chooses to be humble, conscientious, down to earth and decisive in living a life without any comprises. He has turned down many offers which he doesn’t agree to, whereas he could have easily let the easy bucks come in. He is real and he is more than the image which has been concocted about him. He knows himself and stands up to it. It’s not a secret anymore, why he commands respect amongst his peers. Be it Sunjay Dutt, Nana Patekar,(Khamoshi), Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, Rahul Roy, Sanjay Kapoor and Jackie Shroff and everyone I’ve worked with, I have got along with each one of them." says Salman. But who is his favorite? And he’s quite forthcoming, "Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Aamir and Govinda." ‘Judwaa’ starred Salman
in a double role, and he carried this film with a weak script, to peaks
of success. This was also the beginning of his long association with David
Dhawan and Salman cemented his place as an actor with tremendous versatility
and extraordinary timing for comic roles. ‘Auzaar’ directed by Salman's
brother Sohail Khan was a flop at box office. But this didn’t have any
bearing on his fortunes and career because commercial success of ‘Jeet’
compensated for it. ‘Jeet’ saw Salman unleashing his acting talent and
striking a chord with millions.
So what are his
priorities in life? "I have my family, my girlfriend, my work, and of course
my friends whom I like to spend my time with," says Salman with a smirk.
And is there any ideal way to lead life? He quite reflectively looks and
gasps, "I’d like the Sun stroking my face, coke in my hand and no worries
in my head." There seems to be no need for battles, as he is much more
calmed down now. He has come of age and carries off his stardom in a stride.
And it’s hard to escape his friendly banter and infectious warmth. He is
like no body else. Like the spoke of the wheel which remains constant while
the wheel revolves, Salman is a calm and constant in the rut of this film
industry.
