Mumbai: Actor-producer Sohail Khan, younger brother of Bollywood star Salman Khan, was on Saturday called by Mumbai police in connection with a case involving a suspected associate of gangster Chhota Shakeel, a senior police official said. 
 

"He was called to the Crime Branch unit in connection with the Iqbal Attarwala case, but beyond that we would not like to comment on investigations into the matter," joint commissioner of police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said. 

Khan met senior police officials. However, no official was forthcoming on the details of the meeting. 

The police are investigating the involvement of Attarwala, alleged to have links with Shakeel, in a land grabbing case as well as regarding the coercion of Bollywood stars to perform at overseas shows organised by his event management firm. 

Attarwala was extradited from Dubai on September 5.
