Miniature Painting Orccha
This school of Miniature
painting is characterised by the use of strong colours and decorative designs.
These paintings are done with the help of nature coloures and a very thin
brush. A few of their themes are from the traditional Sanskrit and Brij
Bhasha texts. A numer if painting also I illustrate events
from Ramayan, Mahabharat and Bhagavata Gita. Under the patronage of king
Birsingh, this school took a new turn and the court scenes with newer settings
where also illustrated. However, these painting are medium size portfolios
made by a minute brush which depict men, women and their experience in
a very characteristic fashion. |
