Priyanka's father undergoes
surgery
It looks like Priyanka Chopra’s
domestic ordeals may finally be over. On August 16, her father, Dr Ashok
Chopra, underwent surgery in Boston (USA) for a long-standing illness for
which he’s undergone several surgeries.
He is now well on his way
to recuperating. And Priyanka is the portrait of de-stressed joy.
“The surgery has gone well.
And hopefully, this will be the last time dad has to go under the knife,”
she says.
Emergency operation
Priyanka recalls with a
shudder the first time her father’s illness was suddenly detected and he
had to be rushed to the US for surgery. “No airline was willing to take
him on, and we couldn’t get him an air ambulance. We finally got him into
a flight, but it wasn’t easy. Thank God it’s over,” she says.
Unfortunately, Priyanka couldn’t
be present in Boston for the surgery. “I’ve been shooting round the clock
for Nikhil Advani’s Salaam-e-Ishq. Though it was impossible to get away,
I was still willing to somehow make it to Boston to be there for him. But
dad put his foot down.”
“He didn’t want to stress
about my shooting schedules at a time when he was going into surgery. My
mom is with dad. And I’m constantly in touch with them. It looks like the
worst is over. Touch wood.
