Jammu and
Kashmir govt decides to start air safaris

According to a PTI report,
Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to start air safaris over scenic
locales, with an aim to attract high-end tourists to the state. A decision
to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by Nasir Aslam Wani, Minister
of State for Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar yesterday.
He informed that Jammu
and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) will be the nodal agency
to coordinate the safaris and eight destinations across the state have
been initially short listed. The proposed safaris will be over Lolab-Bungus,
Gurez and Zanskar, besides scenic spots in Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and Rajouri
districts.
