The first of the millennium and ½ a century for the organization the 50th Miss world won Miss India-World 2000 and competed with 95 girls at the millennium dome in London on 30th Nov 2000 won at age 17.
 

Born on 18th July 1982, was one of the youngest Miss India and Miss World.
 

Born to Army Officers Lt  Col Ashok Chopra  & Capt Madhu Chopra did her schooling all over India 2 Years at each place was in La martinene girls Hostel,Lucknow at a very young age of 7 then went to Boston  USA to finish High School, came back to finish 12th in  bareilly and by then won Miss India in Jan 2000 with no prior experience in Modelling.  After that joined Jai Hind College, Bombay to pursue studies in Psychology and also modeled for about 5 months doing ads for vatika hair and Home Trade. Then won Miss World in November.
 

During the tenure as Miss World Priyanka’s worked with the variety club in England and participated in other events organised for underprevilaged children around the world was the embassider with CII for the education of the girl child in India and the Thall Asemic Society for the awareness of the Thallisimia which are lifetime commitments currently living in mumbai pursuing a  carrer as an action in the  Hindu Film Industry.
 

The releases lined up  this year are The Hero With sunny Deol & Preity Zinta,  Andaaz with Akshay Kumar & lara Dutta, Kismat with Bobby Deol and Gandhi with Sunny Deol, Ek Haseena Ek Deewana with Govinda. 
 

The film, titled Andaz, is based on a romantic triangle story featuring spunky Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Lara and Priyanka both play his love interests in the film. 

This is the first time when Miss Universe and Miss World titleholders are coming together on the silver screen in Bollywood. 

Andaz is being directed by Raj Kanwar and has music by Nadeem-Shravan duo.

The film, tentatively titled Kabhi Kabhi Pyar Mein…, will be directed by Rajat Mukherji, who made his directorial debut last year with Fardeen-Urmila starrer “Pyar Tune Kya Kiya”. 

The film, which is being produced by Sunil Sadani, will go on the floors in August.

Priyanka’s role in Kabhi Kabhi Pyar Mein… is believed to be that of an eccentric girl whose life is thrown into chaos by some unexpected events.

Latest on Priyanka’s front is that she has been signed by Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta for their banner White Feather Films’ forthcoming movie “Musafir Hoon Yaaron”. 

The film will be directed by Sanjay Gupta, whose “Kaante” is slated to hit the theatres soon. Although other star cast of the film is yet to be finalized there is likelihood of brawny Dutt playing a major role.

Gupta is believed to be on the lookout for a fresh face to play Priyanka’s love interest in the film. 

Priyanka’s foray in Bollywood has been much better than that of her contemporaries like Lara Dutta and Diya Mirza. She is the only newcomer who has comfortably been able to bag big projects opposite the likes of Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar.

But Priyanka doesn’t seem to be content having so many films in her kitty. For she is also snapping plum roles in south Indian films. 

After her debut Tamil movie Tamizhan Priyanka has now signed a Telugu film titled Apuroopam. The film, to be directed by debutant director Sai Ravi, will have Prasanna and Madhukar playing the male leads opposite Priyanka.

The film, titled “Aatma” will have Priyanka pairing with model-turned-actor Aryan Vaid. Her role in the film is said to be a very realistic one.

Shamita Shetty (younger sister of Shilpa Shetty) has also been roped in to play an important role. 

Chakraverthy, who came into limelight by playing the title role in “Satya”, is directing “Aatma”. He recently made his directorial debut with “Durga” which bombed at the box- office. Yet the producer of “Maa Tujhe Salaam”, Mahendra Dhariwal, has signed him to direct “Aatma”.

“Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha” is believed to be a love story of two over-possessive lovers being played by Chi Chi and Priyanka. It is being produced by Amit Kumar, in collaboration with K.C.Bokadia. 

South-Indian director Vincent Salwa is directing the film. It has music by Dabboo Malik. 

Interestingly, Priyanka recently “walked out” of “Raja Bhaiyya” in which she was paired opposite Govinda. 

The reigning Miss World Priyanka is presently one of the busy newcomers in Bollywood with many a plum projects in her kitty. And now she has signed to play the leading lady opposite the dopey-eyed Ajay Devgan in Kuku Kohli’s next film “Asar: The impact”. 

The film, a romantic thriller, also has the celebrated thespian Dilip Kumar playing the character of grandfather after a long time. Dinesh Patel who had earlier produced Kuku Kohli’s “Phool Aur Kaante” (with Ajay Devgan in the lead) is producing the film. 

“Asar” went on floors recently with the canning of the mahurat shot that showed Priyanka and Ajay cuddling in a swimming pool. Dilip Kumar was present on the spot in person and enthusiastically sounded the first clapperboard. 

Besides this Priyanka is also acting in films opposite the likes of Sunny Deol, Govinda and Abhishek.
