In his baritone voice he
recited some of his late father’s poetry, his father’s profound ideologies
that he still lives by and spoke about his early days and the cool rapport
he shares with son Abhishek. He also said how Shah Rukh Khan called him
after he saw Paa and how he called SRK after seeing the MNIK promos.
While Amitabh Bachchan regaled
his fans on Lift Kara De, host Karan Johar simply watched in awe. The best
part of the interaction was when Bachchan made his now famous Banarasi
paan all by himself, for a member of the audience who won a contest.
A fan of his from Baroda
took a vow to walk backward all the way to Mumbai and back to Baroda if
Big B recovered from his 1982 accident. He recovered and so did the fan
kept his promise. Another fan has walked barefoot for 15 years in the fond
hope that Amitabh would visit his home someday.
He also talked about one
of his fan who would send a rose to Breach Candy hospital every single
day during his hospitalization, turned out to be a black-marketer who sold
tickets of Amitabh Bachchan’s films and made enough money to build a house
and get his sister married. He gave up black marketing after the superstar’s
recovery.
Bachchan made his now
famous Banarasi paan all by himself
And the height of all fascination
is that one of his fans prays him daily like a deity (Amitabh Bachchan)
and even sings an aarti which is composed by him for his Lord!
The show and the concept
both appealed to him and he wrote on his blog: ‘Lift Kara De is a program
designed by YRF where they involve stars and their most favourite fans
and what they can do or must do to get to meet their most favourite star
