A Unique Spiritual Journey
of B.K
Brahma Kumaris World HQs.,
Pandav Bhawan, Mount Abu (Rajasthan)
Mighty oaks from small
acorns grow. In 1936 a small seed was planted in Sindh that has grown into
a huge tree with 8,000 branches spanning 130 countries. The Brahma Kumaris
is a global spiritual organisation that has been quietly spearheading a
new spiritual awakening in the moral wasteland of our materialistic world.
Initially led by a group of 300 people who were spiritually awakened through
a series of divine visions and revelations by Supreme Soul God Shiva the
organisation now has over eight lakh members from a wide cross-section
of the world, all sharing a vision of leading a value-based life and creating
a world of purity, peace and happiness. By recognising the core values
that lie in each human being, the Brahma Kumaris have been nurturing these
values through constant practice of Rajyoga meditation and by observing
peaceful principles in their own conduct. In the past seven decades the
organisation has made values like purity, peace, love and joy a practical
and sustainable experience in the lives of millions of people around the
world. Some of the unique features of this spiritual organisation are:

minutes of inner silence - is practised at regular intervals throughout
the day to create peace in a hectic lifestyle.

Every Brahma Kumaris
centre offers a foundation course in Rajyoga meditation. It
explains clearly the
relationship between the mind and body and the interplay
between the soul, God

powers through meditation. Daily spiritual lessons and
practical exercises help
channel the spiritual energy into positive and productive
actions in daily life.
A process of continuous learning ensures renewal of our innate
values at the deepest
level.
Spiritual Service through
Multimedia :
Electronic media: Talks
on positive thinking, human values, spiritual
empowerment and a holistic
lifestyle are regularly broadcast on several TV channels

FOUNDING FATHER AND MOTHER
Prajapita Brahma and
Mateshwari Jagadamba
Dada Lekhraj Kripalani
was a well-to-do diamond jeweller in Sindh. A series of divine
visions and spiritual
revelations by the Supreme Soul transformed his life and he became
a spiritual leader and
founding father of Brahma Kumaris in 1936 at the age of 60.
Mateshwari Jagadamba
Saraswati was the first administrative leader who oversaw the
physical and spiritual
care of all the members of the spiritual family. She was only 17
years of age when she
joined the organisation but soon became the divine Mother
because of her exemplary
virtues and skills.
Brahma Baba.s rock-hard
faith, steadfast vision and an innate ability to cope with
challenges and change
made him a natural leader who steered the fledgling institution
through difficult times.
He was a visionary who conceptualised and set the pace for
worldwide service in
his lifetime, which resulted in a groundswell of spiritual activities
abroad in the 1980s and
1990s.
Mateshwari Jagadamba
explored, practised and exemplified each spiritual
principle and nurtured
the original group of spiritual students with her amazing stock of
human and spiritual values.
She epitomised the balance of feminine and masculine
qualities - tolerance,
sacrifice, kindness, courage, determination and fearlessness - that
gave direction to the
young women and men who are now spearheading the global
movement.
Brahma Baba foresaw women
emerging as Shakti and leading spiritual and social
development with their
innate qualities. Seventy years on, Brahma Baba.s vision and
practical wisdom have
stood the test of time. The Brahma Kumaris have emerged as
global leaders in spiritual
education. Mateshwari passed on in 1964 and Brahma Baba
left this corporeal world
in 1969. Their spiritual legacy is carried on by the Dadis - senior
sisters - and an ever-growing
global spiritual family.
Late Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani,
Former Chief of Brahma Kumaris
The Jewel of Light -
that is what her name signifies. So does her life. A beacon of
spiritual enlightenment,
Dadi Prakashmani was appointed Chief Administrative Head of
the Brahma Kumaris in
1969. Her boundless enthusiasm, generosity and unlimited vision
have helped guide the
organisation in its tremendous global growth. For her, leading
this global institution
is like being a guardian to a global family. She has served on a
number of international
committees, hosted a series of global conferences and
received various honours
and medals - the UN Peace Medal and an honorary
doctorate to name a few.
She attained an Angelic
life on 25th August, 2007 and passed her responsibility to
Rajyogini Dadi Janki
ji, present Chief of Brahma Kumaris and to Rajyogini Dadi Hridaya
Mohini ji, Addl. Chief
of Brahma Kumaris.
Rajyogini Dadi Janki,
Chief of Brahma Kumaris
mine of wisdom and compassion,
Dadi Janki seems to live beyond the time-space
barrier as she tirelessly
travels from one country to the other, offering insights and
inspiration to millions
of people. After establishing numerous centres throughout India, in
1974 she established
the first BK centre outside India, in London. Today, she co-ordinates
the overseas BK centres
in 110 countries. She has presided over numerous international
conferences and engaged
with leaders from various fields. She is one of the ten
wisdom keepers of the
world nominated by the World Parliament of Religions, and also
the President of Janki
Foundation for health care.
Rajyogini Dadi Hirdaya
Mohini, Addl. Chief of Brahma Kumaris
Also lovingly known as
Dadi Gulzar, she joined Brahma Kumaris at the tender age of
eight. Her spiritual
charm derives from innocence, clarity of wisdom and her firm
conviction in spiritual
truths. She offers simple practical tips to guide spiritual seekers all
over the world and spreads
lightness and love with her presence and words. From an
early age she had divine
visions of a future world that is characterised by peace,
prosperity and harmony.
She is the Director of BK centres in Delhi and chairs the
activities of several
service arms at the headquarters.
