The birthday bash that took place at Worli’s posh five-star hotel saw the birthday boy Karan shining in his black suit. With formals as the dress code, Bollywood celebrities poured in to wish the hit filmmaker. 

With Imran Khan and Avantika making the first guests at the event, it was a lonesome Shahid (minus Piggy Chops) who was the last. The occasion was graced by A-list B-town actors who made the event a great success. Celebrities spotted at the birthday bash included Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri where the former looked dapper in a suit while Gauri glittered in a black mini number.

Ekta Kapoor breezed in and stayed for fifteen whole minutes. She looked sexy in a black number (but did she have to wear them with those hideous shoes?) She attributed her slimmer look to the colour  black, "Even though I am Jeetendra's daughter, I don't own anything white because I didn't inherit his body type. My body is courtesy Shobhaa but no complaints, I got her brains too." 

Abhishek and Aishwarya made a late entry but looked wonderful. Saif Ali Khan came with his girlfriend Kareena along with her elder sister Karisma Kapoor. When enquired about his fast driving style, the dimpled actor said, "No way, I had two ladies in the car, how could I drive rashly?" 

Hrithik Roshan looked elegant in a casual shirt and jeans while Susanne looked stunning in her short black/grey number. Also spotted at the occasion were Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika, Arjun Rampal and Mehr, Farah Khan and Shirish, Sohail Khan and Seema, Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep, Chunky Pandey and Bhavna, Milind Deora, Raveena Tandon and Anil Thadani, Twinkle Khanna, Tusshar Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Rani Mukerji, Amrita Arora and Sonam Kapoor.

The party that went till the wee hours of morning ended up at 3 am amid the B-town celebrities jiving to the sound of music and having a time of their life. Ranbir Kapoor (in a scruffy beard and a cap) and Deepika (glowing), Arjun Rampal and Mehr, Sohail Khan and (ever smiling) Seema, Farah Khan and Shirish (who celebrated his birthday at home watching the IPL final at home, just a day before), Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep (in a flaming red dress), Chunky Pandey (always hiding behind a cloud of smoke) and Bhavna, Neelam and Sameer Soni (who spent at least an hour chatting with SRK), Milind Deora (heard commenting: there is so much media outside) and Pooja, Raveena Tandon with Anil Thadani. 

The party winded up at 3 am but not before Arjun, Hrithik, Farhan And Abhishek got up on the bar counter and danced. The awesome foursome, AbhiAsh and SRK-Gauri left in one car with K Jo. Gauri was seen sitting on Chota B's lap. So sad the photogs didn't capture this classic moment on cameras. They were protesting because they weren't allowed into the venue. Whose loss is it anyway?
