Commissioner for Commonwealth Games 2010 NEW DELHI: The Union government on Tuesday assigned a special commissioner for Commonwealth Games 2010 and also carried out minor reshuffle among Delhi Police top and middle-level offices. Ajay Chadha, an IPS officer of 1977 batch, will be the special commissioner of police for Commonwealth Games. Chadha had been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh recently, where he was serving as director general of police. His name was cleared by MHA. The sporting extravaganza is presently being headed by J K Sharma, a joint commissioner level officer. Also, a 1987-batch officer M S Upadhaye, joint commissioner in charge of home guard and civil defence, has been transferred to the riot cell in the same rank. S Vasudeo Rao will replace Upadhaye at the home guard and civil defence wing. Rao is presently joint commissioner in riot cell. H M Meena, deputy commissioner of police in charge of Police Headquarters, has been transferred to Rashtrapati Bhawan security in the same rank. The present DCP in Rashtrapati Bhavan security, SBS Tyagi, has been transferred to Andaman and Nicobar Island. Assistant commissioner
(Patel Nagar-Central District) Mangesh Kashyap has been transferred to
Police Headquarters in the rank of additional DCP.
