28 years since Sunny
Deol debuted in 'Betaab', son Rocky might enter Bollywood with its sequel.
Buzz is that Sunny Deol is planning to launch his son Karan, better known as Rocky, in Bollywood with 'Betaab 2'. Over 28 years ago, Sunny had taken his first step in filmdom with Rahul Rawail's 'Betaab' with Amrita Singh as his co-star. Says a source, "Sunny is keen to consolidate their home banner under which he wants to launch Rocky. Though still in the early stages, a lot of ideas have been tossed around. Sunny is contemplating a sequel to introduce his son to B-Town." The actor has been known to keep his family away from the media glare. Adds the source, "Sunny is keen to complete his pending assignments and wait for the right moment to launch his offspring." Last year, Sunny had confessed that both his sons Rocky, 20, and the younger, Rajvir, 16 were interested in doing films. Though he had maintained that it was too early and that they had to prepare themselves for it. Rocky had even enrolled in an acting school run by Rawail, who Sunny considers his close friend and mentor. It was Rawail's 1985 flick Arjun that made Sunny an action star. Dharmendra had asked Rawail to launch Sunny. And, as a first step, Sunny's son Karan had enrolled in his acting school. The original 'Betaab' released on August 5, 1983 and was directed by Rahul Rawail. The film featured Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh as two youngsters who fall in love despite the class difference between their families. |
Sunny Deol’s older son Karan Deol (also called Rocky Deol) can finally boast of his own dhaai kilo ka haath. The young boy recently appeared for his 12th grade exams at École Mondiale School in Juhu. Karan is a huge fan of football. His absolute favourites include the entire Godfather series. The buzz is that papa Sunny plans to launch his son as an actor soon and preparations are already on their way. Would Karan like to debut with his dad? Woh andar ki baat hai. |
We have been hearing
about this since 2008, but the truth of the matter is that there are no
such plans in the near future. Just to make things absolutely clear we
are talking about the big screen debut of macho man Sunny Deol's handsome
son, Karan, who also goes by the name Rocky Deol. From mid-2008 there have
been sensational breaking news about how Rocky is going to be introduced
by his family any time!
However, as per dad Sunny Deol, Karan has just completed his 12th class and there are no immediate plans of him joining the film industry. In fact, Sunny goes on to add that he has not even talked to Rocky about it! Well, that should clear matters once and for all while we await the real debut of the jr. macho man - Karan Rocky Deol. |
Sunny's angry!
24 Oct 2008. Sunny Deol ka gussa over reports of his son’s ‘launch’ But here is a warning, dearies. The Deol is fairly upset with the media about reporting ‘untrue’ facts about his beta, Rocky. The rumour is that Sunny is making big plans to launch his son in his next home production. Sunny denies it and says he has no such ideas right now, and Rocky is not yet ready to face the camera. Okay, okay, paaji! Don’t be gussa with the media. We’ll hang in there and wait ... till the world is ready for handsome Rocky, right? |

Rocky Deol (his real
name is Karan) elder son of Sunny Deol
Sunny Deol is consolidating his production house, Vijeta Films. And with a purpose. Reveals the actor, “By now, I know that my elder son Rocky (his real name is Karan but we all call him Rocky) would want to join the industry. He’s turning 18 this year. The other son Rajvir will be turning 14. Both are still studying in Mumbai and they want to get into films.” Sunny confesses, “I’m afraid they won’t see the struggle my dad saw; or for that matter, the struggle Bobby and I had to face. They’re missing out on something vital.” Sunny confesses he’s a strict father, “just like our dad was with us. I’ve also been very strict with Bobby. But there’s nothing I’d say no to him for.” |
Sunny has often set his own career aside for his kid brother’s sake. “That may be so. But still my repertoire of films is quite unique. I’ll be producing only entertaining films. I won’t be doing serious films like Chamku. I don’t think people want to see that. Even as a viewer, I don’t want to see a film that doesn’t entertain me.”

I’ll encourage Rocky
in every way possible. It’s not that my children don’t know any other life.
We’ve brought them up like normal kids and we’re quite cut off from the
film industry’s social circuit. But they’re passionate about cinema because
that’s what they’ve seen their father and grandfather doing.

Sunny Deol’s son Rocky
gears up to rock Bollywood!
New Delhi, Sept 13: After having Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor prove their mettle in Bollywood, it’s none other than the ‘Deol Junior’, who is set to make it big in the industry. Rocky, son of the brilliant actor Sunny Deol, will soon be starting a career in Bollywood, as he turns 18 this year. Sunny is optimistic about the junior’s interest, and says, "I’ll encourage Rocky in every way possible. It’s not that my children don’t know any other life. We’ve brought them up like normal kids and we’re quite cut off from the film industry’s social circuit. But they’re passionate about cinema because that’s what they’ve seen their father and grandfather doing." The elder one of two brothers, Karan Deol (Rocky) is a student in Mumbai, but is eager to follow the footsteps of his father and grandfather. His kid brother Rajvir is only 14 and is studying in Mumbai. Believing struggle to be an eminent part of any success story, Sunny told reporters about the struggle that father Dharmendra and he, along with his brother Bobby had to face. The actor said, "I’m afraid they won’t see the struggle my dad saw; or for that matter, the struggle Bobby and I had to face. They’re missing out on something vital.” Though Sunny’s sons won’t be hard up to get a footing in Bollywood, he clarifies that he has not pampered them uselessly. "Just like our dad was with us, I’ve also been very strict with Rocky. But there’s nothing for which I’d say no to him." The sentiments are heart
warming, and with quite the correct dose of paternal concern and love.
Hope the Deol clan consolidates their production house with alacrity, the
newcomers seem promisingly trained!
