Ahana was inundated with offers from reputed directors like Aparna Sen and Vikramaditya Motwane, but for some reason, the films never materialised. She has finally zeroed in on Shoojit Sarcar's road film, a romantic comedy, which is slated for 2012 release.

Going by reports the pretty lady has decided to give Bollywood a try. She will be the fifth member from the Deol family to try her luck in Bollywood. Her elder step brothers Sunny and Bobby Deol have made a mark for themselves in the industry.

Here’s a flashback. A few years ago, Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s younger daughter Ahana Deol refused to play the lead role in one of Dev Anand’s films. And apart from Dev Anand, she turned down several others who wanted to cast her in their films.

If all goes well, Ahana Deol will star in Vikramaditya Motwane’s next. Rumour has it that Anurag Kashyap, who produced Motwane’s directorial debut Udaan, may produce this film as well. The modalities are now being worked out. It was selected to be her best launching pad in the film industry. However, things didn’t go as according to the plans. The movie is on hold now and no one is sure about when work for the movie will resume.

In spite of the setback, Ahana is going to appear in the big screen this year. She is a part of the yet to be named film, by famous director Aparna Sen. “Mr. & Mrs. Iyer”, “The Japanese Wife” and “36 Chowringhee Lane” are few of the memorable and acclaimed films of the director.

The movie is supposed to be a modern day take on the eternal love story of Romeo and Juliet. Prateik will play the role of Ahana’s Romeo. Hema Malini is producing the film and the shooting will begin in September, this year.
