Katrina had denied marriage
reports in the past, stating that she would concentrate on her film industry
career. But now that she has tasted enough success in the last couple of
years, she seems to have decided to settle down in the near future. She
is one of the top actresses in Bollywood today
As she waits for the film
to release, and busy with promoting the Bangalore Royal Challengers in
the IPL, Katrina is also helping her mother with her charitable trust.
We spoke to her about what's keeping her busy these days.
Tell us about your charity
activity.
My mom has a charitable
trust called Suzanne Turquotte’s Foundation, for which I am collecting
the money now by selling my clothes from films. I am arranging an auction
for my fans who want to buy my dresses, and the entire amount is going
to the STF.
Do you handle the auction?
I don’t do much actually,
it’s my mom who gives me the energy. At this age too, she works hard. When
I look at her, I am filled with positivity. She works for others, and all
her good deeds have resulted in my success.
We hear you have been
unwell?
Yes, I have not really
been keeping well, but I am trying to stay healthy. I want to do yoga,
but really don’t get time. Even my doctor sometimes yells at me. But now,
I make sure that I eat properly and get eight hours of sleep.
Tell us about Rajneeti…
The film is close to release,
so I am busy promoting it. I think it's a movie that will change the way
people look at me.
Will you do more serious
films after this?
I don’t know; it depends
upon the character. It’s not about serious roles or fun films, but about
the character. I like wearing colourful clothes and doing happy-go-lucky
films like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. But Rajneeti will give me another
look.
Are you expecting an award
for Rajneeti?
Honestly, I think every
actor who is a part of Bollywood wants to win. As far as I am concerned,
I would say that I am not used to winning awards for Best Actress, though
I have put in as many as six years in the film industry ever since I made
my debut with Kaizad Gustad’s Boom. All that I would say is I am happy
even when I am nominated for the award. I cannot complain, because I have
won rewards at the box office and my directors are happy with me. |
