Ashutosh Kaushik wins Bigg Boss 2 
Lonavala (Maharashtra): Three months after entering the reality show, Ashutosh Kaushik on Saturday night walked away with the ‘Bigg Boss 2’ title and a whopping Rs.1 crore in cash. 
Actor Akshay Kumar announced the winner here in presence of the show’s host, Shilpa Shetty, and all the contestants except for two. 
“I thank Rahul Mahajan for his wishes and support,” Mr. Kaushik, who hails from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, said. Mr. Mahajan, who recently quit the show after being accused of violating house rules, had predicted that Mr. Kaushik would win. 
“I don’t know what I would do with the prize money. I will let my parents decide that,” Mr. Kaushik, who owns a ‘dhaba’ at Saharanpur, said. 
Model-actor Zulfi Syed was declared the second runner-up, while Raja Chaudhry became the first runner-up
Ashutosh Kaushik has been named the winner of Bigg Boss 2, a show that enthralled audiences across India and had become a topic for conversation and debate in colleges, workplaces and even roadside tea-stalls.
Ashutosh was one of the three finalists on the show along with Zulfi Syed, who is better known for his brush with Bollywood, and Raja Chaudhury, who tasted a bit of fame while dancing along side his now separated wife, television actress Shweta Tiwari. 
Ashutosh's is truly be a 'rags to riches' story. He hails from the small town of Saharanpur, in Uttar Pradesh where his only source of income until six months back was a tiny dhaba. 
Life did a u-turn when Ashutosh won the fifth season of MTV's adventure reality show, Roadies. 
Winning Bigg Boss 2 is the icing on the cake, thanks to the big moolah - that will make life a lot easier for this small towner.
Ashutosh was nominated for eviction by the housemates three times but each time his public following saved him.
While in the Bigg Boss house, Ashutosh was often accused of using foul language and criticised for his unhealthy living habits.
His early morning dance on a wake-up song along with his humorous antics and one-liners became his trademark and a major source of entertainment for the viewers.
Though Ashutosh shared a good relationship with almost every participant, his proximity with former Miss World Diana Hayden raised eyebrows inside the house and caused much flutter in the media.
Both of them were often accused of being biased towards each other and remaining cut-off from the rest of the housemates.
Ashutosh was also the winner of Mr Honest title, which was conferred on him by Bigg Boss. That resulted in his one-night stay in the Bigg Boss special room watching movies, as a gift.
The finale, called Jumbo Finale was attended by both Bigg Boss host Shilpa Shetty as well as Bollywood star Akshay Kumar who was there to promote the animation movie, Jumbo.

Rahul Mahajan who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons since the death of his father Pramod Mahajan, a former union minister and one of the most visible faces of the BJP at the time of his death had perfected the art of eliminating his rivals in this reality show.

Rahul has since his arrival became one of the most popular figures in the house. He was the most loved and the most hated personality there.

Mostly he was in the news for several wrong reasons including his liaisons with several women in the house including Payal Rohatgi and later with Monica Bedia, an alleged wife of underworld don Abu Salem.

Rahul has reportedly been thrown out of the house for breaking the rules of the house. Though he is adept at breaking the rules of the house as he was several times seen putting his microphone behind and sleeping with his friends in the women’s room in the Big Boss house.

Bigg Boss 2 inmates were apprehended while trying to escape from the house. Three others went on to apologized while Mahajan refused.

The four contestants were allegedly apprehended while trying to jump the wall of the Bigg Boss2 house in Lonawala, near Mumbai.

This is the first time that contestants from the Big Boss 2 tried to escape from the house of the Bigg Boss2, where around 34 cameras keep watch on the actions of all the contestants round the clock 24x7.

Many people have alleged that this was a stunt stage managed by Big Boss himself to increase the popularity of the reality show further.
With the eviction of all the female contestants from the house, there is not much interest left in the reality show. Even Monica Bedi was eliminated from the house. She and Rahul Mahajan seemed to have kept the show interesting with their love story being telecast live on the television screens.

All the four remaining contestants in Big Boss 2 tried to escape from the house in search of good food. The sorry news comes at a time when the four have survived the grueling 88 days in the house of the celebrity reality show, the only and the most popular of the kind in the country.

The four said that they escaped from the house to change the taste of the food. They said that they were fed up with the quality of the food they end up making themselves in the house.

In the absence of any girl in the Big Boss 2 house, the chorus of preparing food has fallen on the strong shoulders of Rahul Mahajan, Raja Choudhary, Aushotosh and Zulfi Syed, the four who were never known to be taking any interest in home making.

In fact the four seem to not know even the basics of preparing food, not to talk of anything that could interest the palette.

But the four seem to be very unlucky as all of them were apprehended by the Big Boss 2 security personnel even before they could make good their escape. There are several dozen cameras and it is amazing how they thought to dodge the security arrangements there.

Was it something advised by the Big Boss himself??? Any Guess?

Endemol's Managing Director (India) Deepak Dhar though dismisses the rumour and says, “They must have got bored sitting in the house for nearly three months. They must have lost track of time and be unaware of the scenario outside. This has happened before in Big Brother (the international show from which Big Boss is adapted) in London [Images] and Romania.”

On being asked what action was being contemplated against the four participants, who are in effect the finalists as the winner will be decided next week, Dhar said, "Because it is an international format, we will discuss the issue with the Endemol international HQ and decide in a couple of days." "We will also discuss the issue with doctors and psychologists before taking action. You will get your answer in a couple of days, so keep watching the show," Dhar said.

The second season of TV reality show Bigg Boss will have controversy galore. With politicians Rahul Mahajan and Sanjay Nirupam, notorious British reality TV star Jade Goody and gangster Abu Salem's companion Monica Bedi among many others, the show will make for exciting viewing over the next three months.

Fourteen contestants including television actors Ketki Dave and Rakhi Vijayan, item girl Sambhavna Seth, actors Payal Rohatgi and Monica Bedi, non-celebrity Elina apart from Jade Goody are part of the female inmates of the Bigg Boss house.

Among the men are model-actor Zulfi Syed, music reality show winner Debojit Saha, MTV Roadies 5.0 winner Ashutosh Kaushik, TV actress Shweta Tiwari's estranged husband Raja Chaudhry, Congress member Sanjay Nirupam, Rahul Mahajan - son of late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan and famous comedian Ehsaan Qureshi.

While all of them will be closeted in a specially designed house for three months under 24-hour surveillance, with no access to telephones or television, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who had won the international format of the show Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, will be hosting the show.

Shilpa had emerged winner despite racist remarks in Celebrity Big Brother by Goody, who has now come to India to "change people's perception" about her.

Also, Payal Rohatgi's reported closeness with Rahul Mahajan was also earlier this month, an alleged reason for his break-up with his wife Shweta.

Shilpa herself will appear only in the elimination episodes each Friday, communicating with the contestants through a TV screen. Each week, one contestant will be voted out.
 

Rahul Mahajan Rahul Mahajan (born 1974) in a Maharashtrian Deshastha Brahmin family is an Indian politician. He is son of the late Indian politician, Pramod Mahajan. Rahul Mahajan came into the news when his father was shot by his own brother and struggled for his life for twelve days before succumbing. Television footage showed him comforting his sister and mother and maintaining a stoic demeanour. There were rumours that Mahajan would be inducted into the BJP to follow his father's footsteps. However, exactly a month after his father's death on June 3, 2006, Mahajan was hospitalized after an alleged cocaine overdose. His father's secretary, Bibek Maitra was also rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The two had imbibed a cocktail of drugs along with champagne. Mahajan recovered, but on his discharge from hospital on June 6 2006, he was arrested by the Delhi Police on charges of drug possession and consumption. The case has become more complex because there are several different versions of what happened that night, and the fact that Apollo Hospital, where the two were admitted, said in a press conference that Mahajan's toxin screens were negative for all known drug types. An independent testing of Mahajan's blood has yielded different results, with high quantities of opiates detected in his blood sample. Apollo hospital has since changed their answer, saying that traces of barbiturates and opiates were found in his bloodstream. The forensics lab, after examining Mahajan's gastric lavage, has declared that heroin had been consumed, probably after mistaking it to be cocaine, and the Indian press has compared the incident to the movie Pulp Fiction.

Debojit Saha Debojit Saha is Indian-Bengali singer and was the winner of Zee TV's reality series, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 He was placed in Ismail Darbar's Yalgaar Ho Gharana and then started to gain public attention by going through the initial rounds by being chosen by the judges. In the final 12, he was only in the bottom three once.  On February 24, 2006, he was announced the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 with the majority of votes from the North Eastern states of India. He has lent his voice in bollywood movie 88 Antop Hill. At the moment, Saha is looking forward to sing in Assamese films Moreover, he is busy shooting for Zee TV Bangla’s Sa Re Ga Ma, where he is the host. Simultaneously, he is singing at various concerts and practising a lot to improve his singing skills. He is one of the 14 contestants in the season 2 of TV reality show Big Boss .

Ashutosh Kaushik MTV Roadies 5 winner, a Dhabha owner who straight forward talks helped him win the MTV Roadies title, was a surprise entry. Apart from the fact he speaks straight and typical UP language, it will be good for the inmates as he can really prepare good food. Rahul as a good House Manager guided him through all the corners of the house. Will be see how Ash manages Rahul’s attitude!  Aashutosh Kaushik is from Sahranpur.  He was born on October 02, 1979. He owns a small restaurant. He was one of the contestants of MTV Roadies 5, an adventure reality show.  He was rejected at the Chandigarh and Delhi auditions and was finally selected from the Jaipur audition.  He was among the top two finalists and was declared the winner on May 24, 2008.

Raja Choudhary Raja Choudhary - Raja better know as Ex-husband of Shweta Tiwari (Prerna of Kaasuati Zindagi Ki) was all in news for her problems with his wife Shweta and the matter went to court. Raja started on an emotional note saying that he is doing all these for his daughter Palak and probably she might understand that he was not wrong. Hmmm, we understand your feelings, we will see what all you have to say about your relationship with your wife and the problems you had! Participant in Dance Based Reality Show. Raja Chaudhary was getting passionate with his heroine Raina Mukherjee during a lovemaking scene for his film Kuch Khel Kuch Masti. A source from the sets says, “Raja is paired opposite this new girl Raina Mukherjee. His wife Shweta visits the sets whenever possible. Once, during the shooting of an intimate scene between Raja and Raina, she got pretty upset and created a huge scene on the sets. There was chaos after that. She made her displeasure very clear, in loud words, and there was tension all round, on the sets. The shoot was stalled while Raja took her to a corner and tried to convince her about the scene.” However, when contacted, Raja Chowdhury obviously had a different version of the same story. He said, “Yes there is this one song where I have very intimate scenes with the leading lady Raina. However, I told Shweta about it before, and she understood.”

Zulfi Sayed Model, actor and the smart shy stud made a grand entry and we guess he will look forward to gather some fame through this show. He has worked on a movie called Taj Mahal (we do not know when did it came and went). He just said it’s the first time he will be away from his friends for this long, but will see how it all goes.

Eshaan Qureshi  Stand up comedian who has this habit of dragging the last word and making comic peotry out of anything. We are thinking what if he starts his comic act everyday and the inmates has to bear his poetry everyday?   Ek din, main Delhi pahuncha, Station pe ek coolie se bahar jane ka rasta pooncha. Sanjay Nirupam Sanjay Nirupam (born February 6, 1964) is an Indian politician. He was born in the remote village of Rohtas in Bihar. He spent his childhood in Rohtas and after completing his schooling, moved to Patna in 1980 for higher education. He has been active in politics since his student life. He graduated in 1986 in arts with honours in political science. He moved to Delhi in 1986 and joined the weekly "Panch Janya" as a Sub-editor. In 1988, he received an offer from "Jan-Satta" a sister publication of Indian Express which led to his moving to Mumbai.

Monica Bedi Monica Bedi (born January 18, 1975, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India) is an Indian actress and companion of gangster Abu Salem. He used his influence in Bollywood to get her acting roles in Bollywood productions. Their companionship was an example of the underworld-filmdom nexus between Mumbai and Bollywood. In September 2002, she was arrested along with Abu Salem by the Lisbon police for entering Portugal with forged documents. After years of legal battle, they were deported to India in November 11, 2005, after India promised Portugal that Salem would not receive death sentence. On 29th September 2006, an Indian Court convicted Monica Bedi for passport forgery. CBI had filed a case against Bedi under section 420 (cheating), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and section 12 of the Passport Act for procuring a passport on a fictitious name. Bedi was acquitted of all criminal charges by a Bhopal court on July 16 2007 due to lack of evidence against her. Yet another case for possessing a passport from Hyderabad on forged documents in the name of Sana Malik is pending in a Hyderabad court.

Rakhi Vijayan Tandon - She started as Sweety of Hum Punch and then appeared in one or two TV serials after which she disappeared. When asked whats the plan, she said she wants to have a blast, chill out and make a family out of the inmates. Rakhi, you want to make family? Easy said, you will see how bitchy the whole thing goes in matter of days. And if it does not go bitchy phir Bigg Boss ka kya maaza!  Rakhee Tandon is an Indian Comedy Actor. She is the sister-in-law of Indian actress Raveena Tandon. She played in the serial Heena Tandon also plays the role of Sweeti Mathur in a popular Indian Sitcom, "Hum Paanch", where she is the third daughter of Anand Mathur, played by Ashok Saraf. Sweety is often referred to by her family as 'Hateli' or a bimbo. Rakhi Vijan has filed for divorce from her husband Rajiv Tandon (brother of actress Raveena Tandon).

Payal Rohatgi was born on November 9 in Hyderabad, India. She is the daughter of Veena Rohatgi and Shashank Rohatgi. She has a brother named Gaurav Rohatgi. She was brought up in a middle class family and grew up in Ahmadabad in Gujarat. A computer engineer from L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad by profession. Payal studied in Udgam School.[1], Payal Rohatgi won the title of Miss Tourism World in 2001, against candidates from 65 countries. She was also a finalist at the Femina Miss India contest in 2000. These successes encouraged Payal to enter the entertainment industry and so she moved to Mumbai. She is approximately 5'6" tall, and her star-sign is Scorpio. Needs no introduction, she has done all good “C” grade bollywood movies and has charmed the audience with her steamy acts. With Rahul, Zulfi and Raja as the inmates we can expect some flirty and steamy gossips (and acts?). As usual, Rahul escorted her to her room. Hmmm Rahul, Payal ko bhi nahin choda?

In 2006, she signed her first A grade Bollywood film, 36 China Town, as one of the lead characters. The movie starred already established stars like Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and Paresh Rawal. Even amongst all these stars she got noticed.

In 2007, she had her first release with Priyadarshan's film Dhol which was produced by Percept Picture Company. She played a positive second lead character, paired opposite Arbaaz Khan.

Jade Goody - First International inmate for Bigg Boss and this is the third time she is going into Big Brother like show. She came into news with her racial remarks on Shilpa, which eventually helped Shilpa to win the Big Brother title. We will see how she goes with Eleena, Payal in particular and Sambhavna. Man, this is gonna be too much to digest Jade Cerisa Lorraine Goody (born 5 June 1981) is a British reality television celebrity and businesswoman who became famous after appearing on the Channel 4 reality. show Big Brother in 2002 when she was 21 years old. She later appeared in a number of other programmes. As a participant in the 2007 series of Celebrity Big Brother, she was at the center of allegations of bullying, racist and elitist comments against fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty, the noted Indian actress, she denies being racist.

Alina Wadiwalla This 21-year-old wedding photographer is highly extroverted, motor mouth and known to for her devil-may-care attitude. Alina is sexy, single, unattached and shockingly straightforward. A romantic by nature, she believes in serial dating in a process to discover herself. Alina can be quite emotional and is rather impulsive most of the times. Alina is a UK returned Indian of a Muslim (Shia – Khoja) origin. Everyone in the BB2 house will either be extremely fond of her or take an extreme dislike to her.   Eleena Mallya - No much details available except for the fact she is 21 yrs old and has typical western accent. Sambhavna Seth Sambhavna Seth has something in common with Mallika Sherawat, Urmila Matondkar and even Helen. Each of the ladies have danced to the tune of 'Mehbooba'.  In Bhojpuri version of SHOLAY which has been titled GABBAR, Sambhanva Seth jives to the tune of a song which has a setting similar to that of 'Mehbooba'. Though it's just the song's title 'Mehbooba' which has been retained, rest of the lyrics and tune are completely different and designed to suit Bhojpuri flavor.  Bhojpuri GABBAR has superstar Ravi Kissen enacting the role of the central protagonist. Another star attraction is Jeetendra who plays Thakur, the role made memorable by Sanjeev Kumar.  Directed by Mahesh Pandey, GABBAR releases tomorrow i.e. 25th January.

Ketki Dave Ketki Dave (née:Joshi) is a Bollywood actress. She works in the popular tv series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Ketki joined the team when the show started in April 2000. She then took a break from work and returned in 2003. She worked for a few months and then had a major fall-out with her producer Ekta Kapoor and hence left the show. She also played the mother of Saif Ali Khan in the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho which was released in 2003. Then she starred on Nach Baliye (Season 2, September 2006) with her husband Rasik Dave. They were the first couple to exit the show in round two, which aired on October 02, 2006. She had a patch up with Ekta and returned to work for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Daksha in November 2006 and still continues to do so.
