After Aishwarya Rai and Mallika Sherawat walked on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival, it was the turn of Deepika Padukone to get that honour. Deepika's gorgeous attire, killer smile and stylish postures left the spectators bewitched. 

Buzz is that the Bollywood diva will walk down the red carpet at the 63rd annual Cannes Film Festival. Deepika will be seen in a sensuous sari designed by designer Rohit Bal. 

Deepika walked the red carpet at Cannes in a designer saree, unlike Aishwarya and Mallika, who preferred Western costumes. Deepika wore a Rohit Bal saree and took the six yard route.

Deepika was seen in the cream and gold confection with Kundan jewellery. She sizzled at the Cannes, catching everyone's attention.

Deepika also put a sparkling bindi on her forehead and a 'RK' tattoo on her neck. :) Deepika attended the Cannes Festival as the brand ambassador of Chivas Regal

This would be Bal's first work since suffering from a heart ailment and having surgery earlier this year. Bal revealed in an interview to a newspaper, "There's a lot of criticism on why Indian women wear Western outfits at red carpets of premiere events. This year Deepika will show the world how beautiful saris are. She will be wearing a beautiful, super sexy saree." Bal added, "The sari would be ivory in colour."

"It is a great honour to walk the red carpet representing India at Cannes and it's a great joy to work with Rohit again," Deepika told the newspaper.

However, Deepika will be in Cannes only for a day. She'll be attending the premiere of French film Tournee (On Tour), directed by Mathieu Amalric, which is competing for festival's top prize, the Palme d'Or.
