After cricket matches and reality shows, the allegation of fixing has now started haunting beauty pageants too.

Ipshita Pati, a participant of beauty competition I Am She, has alleged that there was blatant fixing in the course of the contest. The young model from Orissa claimed that the winners were pre-decided and the entire competition was just a sham.

Blaming favouritism for her failure, Ipshita said because of fixing she could not make it to the final 30. She said that a sudden surprise exception was made for a contestant Pooja Hegde, who was given a wildcard entry to the competition.

Interestingly, Pooja not just found a place in the final 30 but was eventually declared the second runners up.

The pageant was started this year by the former Miss Universe and actress, Sushmita Sen. She and her event management company, Tantra were involved in the conceptualisation and execution of the entire event. Sushmita herself was a jury member of the pageant that concluded on May 24.
