Best Debut (Female) Award: Parineeti Chopra for Ladies vs Ricky Bahl

The production house has signed Chopra for a three-film deal.  Chopra has been with YRF for over a year in the marketing department as a part of the promotional and PR team. Given a one-off chance to audition for the film, she impressed both Sharma and Aditya Chopra and was immediately cast for a role as one of the ladies who fall prey to the smooth talking guile of Ricky Bahl. “I think Parineeti was phenomenal in her video test. I had no doubts that I wanted her in my film. In fact, when I worked on the script, I had her at the back of my mind, having interacted with her while she was in office,” said Sharma. Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl starts shooting early-April and is scheduled to release on 9 December, 2011

"Pariniti is my sister. Today only she has signed a film with YRF. I am very happy that YRF singned her," Priyanka told reporters at a promotional event of her film "7 Khoon Maaf" held at JW Marriot hotel Monday.

Pariniti has been signed for the film "Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl" where actor Ranveer Singh and actress Anushka Sharma are yet again sharing the screen space after their recent hit "Band Baaja Baaraat" under the same banner. Based on the story developed by producer Aditya Chopra "Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl" is a romantic comedy where a charming conman Ricky Bahl cons girls for a living, but finally meets his match. The film is set to go on floor early April with plans to hit theatres worldwide Dec 9 this year. Pariniti works with YRF in their marketing department and she did PR for her film "Pyaar Impossible" too, reveals Priyanka.

Parineeti Chopra, who debuts in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, seems to have become a favourite with YRF, and has already signed on a second film, Ishqzaade, with the banner. 

But her sister’s debut did give Priyanka a chance to stake her own claim as well. So despite running high fever, she made it a point to attend a special screening of the film. 

“PC has been wanting to work with YRF for a long time. But after Pyaar Impossible’s debacle, she hasn’t received any offers from them. While Rani, Katrina and Anushka have already made their mark, Priyanka hasn’t been as lucky. She has been sending feelers to the Chopras but to no avail,” says a source.

But the official line is that it was all sisterly love. “It was a special moment for Priyanka. She was watching her little sister on the big screen for the first time ever. Despite being down with viral fever, Priyanka made it bang on time,” says the official spokesperson of YRF.

Ishaqzaade is being directed by Habib Faisal, features an equally capable crew comprising of Hemant Chaturvedi (Company, Maqbool & Kurbaan) is the DOP, Amit Trivedi (National & Filmfare Award for Dev D and Filmfare Award for Udaan & acclaimed musical score for No One Killed Jessica) is composing the music with lyrics by Kausar Munir (Tashan).

Mukund Gupta, who won the award for best Production Designer for Do Dooni Chaar, is doing the production design; Aarti Bajaj (Do Dooni Chaar, Jab We Met, Dev D, No One Killed Jessica, Rockstar, apart from several others) will be editing the film.
