Reliance Group to Set
up University (DAU) in MP
Bhopal: On the occasion
of the Global Investors Meet at Khajuraho on Thursday, the Reliance Anil
Dhirubhai Ambani Group announced to set up Dhirubhai Ambani University
(DAU) in Bhopal. Reportedly, the university is expected to deliver focused
studies and research in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
On the sidelines of the
Global Investors Meet, Reliance ADA Group, Chairman, Anil Ambani said,
“A high quality University at Bhopal that offers programmes in Information
Technology is a priority for a state like Madhya Pradesh that is on the
vanguard of making great strides in economic development on the strength
of its intellectual resources.”
According to the company
sources, Reliance ADA Group has earmarked Rs 100 crore for developing higher
education in Madhya Pradesh.
A company release said
DAU will be soon set up in 110 acres of land. The Government of Madhya
Pradesh has issued a letter of intent and also provided land for the proposed
project to ADA Group.
“The University will provide
focused studies and research in ICT and also focus on niche programmes
relevant to the economic development of the state,” a company release stated.
“The DAU will offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with
emphasis on research activities in ICT and allied areas,” it added.
Madhya Pradesh Government
is holding a two-day long Global Investors Meet at Khajuraho from tomorrow
with an aim to attract investment in the state. During the inaugural and
concluding functions of the Summit, MoUs for investment in Madhya Pradesh
will be signed. So far 51 investors from foreign countries, 20 big industrialists,
and around 192 representatives of 100 companies of the country have consented
to attend the Summit.
